The Moorings Villa Pet Friendly in Palmetto Dunes

This was a great location, close to the beach, general store and bike paths. Our friends had a house nearby so was convenient to meet with them and walk back to condo.

We loved the location of this property and all the amenities it had to offer. The villa was clean, well-stocked, and we loved the proximity to the beach and community pool. We would definitely return to this property again.

We had a lovely time staying at this property again in Hilton Head. The second floor property is a short walk to the beach but also feels like a secluded get away, as it’s on the end of the row of condos and surrounded by trees. It’s also one of the more updated condos in the area which makes for an even more comfortable stay. We had one plumbing issue that they took care of the same day, which allowed to continue our vacation uninterrupted. All-in-all, definitely recommend staying here, so long as there’s room for us to stay again next year.

Place was just as described… very clean, comfortable and location is perfect,. 2nd floor condo with stairs in between the beach and Pickleball courts . Detailed instructions via email from Carolina Coast vacations before arrival was very helpful.

We had a good time at this property. The location was excellent. You can easily walk to the beach in 2 minutes. It was comfortable and had 3 full bathrooms which is great for a 2 bedroom condo! We recommend this condo highly.

So close to the beautiful beach. The property was immaculate. Loved having the children’s area a little separate from the rest of the condo. Would definitely stay there again.

We had a great stay in Palmetto Dunes. This condo is about a 3m walk to the beach and the Dunes House Restaurant. It’s set up almost as two separate sides with the two bed room/bathroom on the right as you want in and then the kitchen, kind bedroom and two bathrooms on the left which was great - our kids had their own side and bathroom and my wife and I had our side. The kids loved riding their bikes up and down the beach and throughout the neighborhood (bike paths everywhere). The beach was perfect and so close. The condo itself was very nice and recently updated. Perfect spot, we will be back!

After reading a few of the recent reviews regarding maintenance and upkeep, we were a little bit nervous about what we might find when checking into the unit. We messaged the host before arrival to share our concerns and ask questions. They responded informatively and honestly. Upon arrival, the unit was clean and comfortable. Some of the kitchen gadgets and materials were dull/could be replaced, but still useable and allowed for cooking meals at home on occasion. Again, the unit was clean, comfortable, and enjoyable. The location is great with good proximity to the beach, beach bar and grille, and the rest of Palmetto Dunes amenities.

This is a great location. Close to beach, pickle ball and the general store. The space worked well for us and the 3rd full bathroom was a plus. Having said that the furniture was tired and dirty. Some of the surfaces could use a good clean(walls and doors). In the bedroom with the queen beds there is some sort of dried food substance on the dresser. All of the white curtains are dirty and are not light blocking. Half of the beach chairs are broken. They do provide starter packs but know that you need to buy salt and pepper, sugar and any spices you may want to cook with. This unit has the potential to be really nice but needs updating.

While the space itself/layout was great for two couples, the furnishings were quite tired. Torn/worn/discolored sheets on all beds. White curtains throughout the unit were dirty and should be cleaned or replaced. No shades or room darkening blinds in either bedroom. Very dull knives. Missing light bulb in powder room. Light fixture falling out of the ceiling above sink area. So much potential with this villa but unfortunately, it needs some TLC to make it what we enjoy on vacation.

Location was great for beach access! This unit is near the road though so expect to hear garbage trucks and work trucks quite frequently. The property has nice potential - and one problem is bot a big deal, but there were several that I listed below…. The culmination of all led me to reach out to the property manager who did respond. They offered me 75 dollars as a refund but I would have rather had the attention to detail I expect. Unit needs a new couch- this one literally appears broken. Ice maker broken. Unable to open sliding glass doors and several broken fixtures in the unit a property manager should just maintain. Unclean under the beds, furniture and in the washing machine (yuck). Glassware had food caked on them. *** NICE Feature - A wagon, chairs and umbrella to help trek to the beach.🙂 Palmetto Dunes has lots to do.. AND its Hilton Head! ….always my happy place! Hopefully these comments will result in an improved experience for the next guest!

This property was absolutely amazing! It was a short walk to the beach which was beautiful and clean. It was also an easy walk to the general store. The condo was just like the pictures. The beds were a little hard but definitely didn’t keep me from a good night sleep. Would absolutely recommend this place and we will be back!

We stayed between Christmas and New Years. It was a good location to the beach as well as getting in and out of Palmetto Dune. The property management company was quick to respond when we reached out. Our family had a fun trip in Hilton Head!

Our first time to HHI and our family had a blast! The condo was very clean and the location was close to everything Hilton Head Island has to offer! The kids especially loved the short (very short) walk to the beach! We saw lots of dolphins and deer!

Not impressed with this property compared to others we have stayed at in Palmetto Dunes! The kitchen does not have a pantry so food had to stay on counters! The freezer only has 2 little shelves. Ice maker does not work. The coffee maker burner is rusted and didn’t keep coffee hot. The washer and dryer are in a very small bathroom and is tight going in to wash and dry laundry. Living room couch is lumpy. Dining room table needs replacing. I guess I’m just used to much nicer properties so will not be staying at this one again.

Pros: - Location (5 minute walk to the beach, 5 minute walk to the tennis/pickleball courts). There's also a restaurant and general store nearby. This condo really is in a great location within Palmetto Dunes and is the main reason I would consider coming back. - End and top floor unit (could be a con for some if you don't want to have to carry items up multiple flights of stairs). - Private balconies off each bedroom with access to both balconies from the living room (note: the living room access door for the master bedroom balcony needs to be fixed) - 3 full bathrooms (although small, it was nice to have 3 showers and toilets). - 3 TVs with cable (a large living room TV and smaller TVs in each bedroom). - Beach wagon with 5 beach chairs and 2 beach umbrellas. The beach chairs and umbrellas were old and rusty but worked fine! There were also plenty of beach towels. Cons: - The beds in the 2nd bedroom were definitely not queen size (more like full size beds). - Cooking appliances/tools need updating. The frying pans in particular need to be replaced. - The couch in the living room was not very comfortable and didn't seem particularly clean. We opted to bring an air mattress for the living room rather than using the pull out sofa. - The floors were sandy and a little dirty (this is probably to be expected in a dog-friendly beach condo) Overall, we really enjoyed staying here! It could use some updates and a little TLC but for the price this one is hard to beat!

Overall the location is great-we love Palmetto Dunes and the short walk to the beach! The floors were not very clean at all. We had black feet after walking around inside for just a short time when initially arriving. There was lots of dust over things/furniture as well. The laundry area is tight but having it was a great touch. The beds are VERY loud and make noise with the slightest movements and not ideal for sleeping at all but especially when sharing the room with two kids under two. All mattresses were this loud and very uncomfortable. However the space overall was great. Would have liked another couch or comfy space to sit on. The decorative chairs were cute but not very functional or comfy! The beach wagon, chairs and towels were handy!

The property was very nice inside and the location is fabulous! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars to every rating is the the rental agency where we picked up car passes was a little difficult to find. Needs better signage. And, our outdoor furniture was very dirty and would have required cleaning to be able to use. But, the inside was very clean and nice. Would definately rent this unit again!!

Location was perfect! Short walk to the beach. Condo amenities were great except the sofa bed where one of our teenagers slept; this needs to be updated. It was your typical uncomfortable sofa bed, very hard to sleep on for several days. Also the oven sparked when we turned on, even though we hadn’t put anything in yet. Thankfully, we didn’t really need it because we ate out often. But overall, a good family condo with adequate space and close to bike/ walking trails, general store and putt putt!

Our experience was ok but could have been better. The location of the property was excellent as the beach and pool were all within walking distance. It was also within biking distance of all restaurants and shopping areas. Both bedrooms are very spacious and can accomodate a family of 4 comfortably. The 3 full bathrooms along w the washer/dryer were definitely a plus! Our only issue was that the property seemed to have a small pest problem. The pest control company also had a scheduled appointment during our visit. My advice to the property management company is to mitigate the pest problem as soon as possible. Otherwise, I would have provided a 5-star rating.
